Privacy notice
The data we keep about you, our reasons, who else can see it, and for how long.
Updated on 23 September 2026
This agreement is between you and whoever runs Paykio: legal entity name, registered address and company number — to be supplied by the operator
The data we keep
We keep your e-mail address, the item you bought, its price, the date, and the order reference. A receipt needs exactly these details, so these are the details we store.
Your card number is not something we keep. The pay button on the payment page opens PayPal's own checkout window. Anything you type there goes directly to PayPal and never passes through Paykio. From PayPal we learn only two things: whether the payment worked, and how much was taken.
Our reasons
- To deliver the licence key you paid for, and resend it when you ask.
- To reply to questions about a charge, and to deal with refunds and disputes.
- To keep accounting records, as the law requires.
Others who can see it
PayPal takes the payment and keeps its own record of it, under its own privacy policy. An e-mail provider delivers your key. A hosting provider runs our servers. That is the full list. We sell no data about you, and we run no ads.
Cookies and analytics
Paykio uses no cookies of its own and no analytics. On the payment page, your browser's session storage holds one value: the ID of the payment you started. This lets you retry a declined card without opening a second payment. Closing the tab removes it. PayPal's checkout uses its own cookies, which it needs for fraud checks.
If you pick a light or dark theme, that choice stays in your browser. It is never sent to us or anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for the period the law sets for accounting records. After that, we delete them. We keep nothing longer than that.
Your rights
You may ask to see the data we hold on you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted unless the law makes us keep it. E-mail [email protected] from the address you used at checkout, or give the order reference. That way we know the request comes from you.
A simpler explanation
Our card safety page covers the same points in everyday words. It also explains how the payment link and the card form work.
